Hello. Mysteriously, my previous account (eternalautumn) was "deleted". An administrator is working to find out why, which is appreciated. Losing my private messages, saved threads, etc. is sad, but... I'm all for fresh starts!

(Please don't ban me for multiple accounts, Tim!)

Anyway, I hope you all are well and enjoying whatever season your region is currently experiencing!

Welcome back. I always follow your posts as eternalautumn. I hope you get your original account back. Recently I have had my computers and accounts on the web hacked. I finally got all the accounts back and my repair person cleaned the junk out of my computers.

I use an iMac most of the time and don't notice much. But I also have a 2core2 PC laptop since on the road I need astrology programs and for portability PC's are just too cheap to not use one.

But.... my PC Lenovo T61 got slower and slower and slower, and weirder. And finally I ran some software.

I had Nine Thousand two hundred forty seven pieces of malware on it, Fourteen nasty viruses, and 6 Trojans not included in the first two. My cookies were so hacked that I had more cookies that I could believe. I not only got a machine that runs XP very fast now, I also got a lot of HD space back. I still run XP since I only use it for writing, listening to music, using the astrology software, and occasionally getting on this forum. No need to upgrade as long as I run Spybot etc now and then.

You have my sympathy. Glad to see that you are back. What does your new name mean?

Hello, friend! I do as well. It's pretty valuable to me, information-wise. The administrator informed me they recently purged old, inactive accounts, but mine should not have been included! Accident, or "accident", we shall see. I'm pretty confident none of my online accounts were hacked, nor were any computers I use compromised.

Zarathu, how are you? Since you put the information out there, I will caution that using outdated versions of Windows OS is very risky. Most lil' nasties exploit vulnerabilities in Windows in general, and older versions in particular, since they aren't being updated and patched by Microsoft. I highly recommend against it. Try Ubuntu, or become a pirate. :bandit:

My new name is the same as my old name. Haha.

None of these options will run my software programs, I've checked into them. But since the PC laptop does NOT do anything other than use this website, there is no danger involved. Besides it got the 9,000 pieces of malware while it was still "supported by MS" which is as far as I'm concerted Piece of sh!t support. Even if somehting got into it, I has no email program on it, and nothing person except astrology.

In December, I'm upgrading the astrology software for Xmas, so I'll go to Windows 8 at that time. Still won't be like surfing the web in a Flagship Mac, but then I don't surf in the PC.

Last week I ran the Spyware again after using it without MS support for another month, and it was clean.
