In your opinion or experience would you say that the true birth time is earlier or later then the given birth time? Is this based on rectification or observation. Even on birth certificates the time can be incorrect. Dean's work Recent Advances in Astrology gives and overview of research over birth time errors, interesting read. Many errors are due to faulty clocks and that some hospitals don't even have a clock in the room. What are you thoughts, since this is probably the most important part of beginning on a chart. Not even to mention when is the birth moment.

As an example, the birth of my first born was clouded by being born a blue baby, rushed out of the room, we worried to death if he would make it, we had no time to worry about his birth time and had to accept the moment given by the midwife.

I tend to think real birthtimes are probably earlier than the birthtimes on birth certificates.Because people are usually busy with the baby and the mother at the time and when they need to record the birth they usually use the time they are signing the papers.

I would think around 5-8 minutes either side would be the rough estimate.

Thankfully my mother has an Eidetic memory so I got the accurate time for my birth. Something I clearly didn't inherit 🙄 I can barely remember what day it is!🤦
