It takes about 3 days for a spacecraft to travel to the Moon. The Aries constellation is about 66 light years from earth - therefore it is impossible to travel there in a short time frame with today's technology.

If the Moon enters a new zodiac sign every 2 to 3 days - e.g. Moon in Pisces or Moon in Scorpio - does it mean the Moon is physically located inside those constellations so many light years from earth during the transitions from zodiac sign to zodiac sign or is the Moon simply aligned with those Zodiac constellations while being physically many light years away from the constellations in space?

No. These constellations are light years away. Astrology is based off our perspective here on Earth.

definitely not :)

Quite so

or is the Moon simply aligned with those Zodiac constellations while being physically many light years away from the constellations in space?

CORRECT :)
MOON travels each SIGN once a month aka "...moonth..."
but

is not always in the same sign SIDEREALLY as Tropical :)
because

although all Astrologers
– are commenting on and making predictions
regarding THE IDENTICAL MOON in the skies

interestingly
a computer generated Tropical Chart

ALWAYS differs by DEGREE occuppied by the Moon
from Sidereal DEGREE occupied by the Moon

and sometimes differs by sign as well

Sidereal location of Moon

may be confirmed BY VISUAL observation of local skies
Notice there is a minimum difference of 20°
up to a maximum of approximately 24°
between Tropical and SIDEREAL MEASUREMENT

i.e.
ANY planet at 0° OF any Tropical SIGN
is SIDEREALLY between approximately 6° - 10°
to a maximum 24° of the PREVIOUS SIGN
dependent on the ayanamsha

The ayanamshas do not differ by that much (14 to 18 degrees) from each other.

Ayanamsa is the Sanskrit term
for the amount of precession.
In astrology, it is the longitudinal difference
between the Tropical and Sidereal zodiacs.

Yes. You see, every few seconds, aliens freeze time, take the moon in their spaceship to a distant constellation light-years away to absorb the energy of distant stars, and then bring the moon back and unfreeze time, and that's how the energy of distant constellations gets infused into the moon...

Or... you know, maybe the concept of the moon being "in" a constellation is symbolic and based on what constellation the moon looks like it's travelling through from our perspective on Earth.

I mean, you can believe whatever makes more sense to you, I guess..

teklon, apologies if you already know this, but basically astrology operates with the very ancient model of a geocentric (earth-centered) universe. (Or topocentric=place-centered.) Where you stand on the earth's surface gives the perspective from which you view planets and constellations.

The constellations (and more abstractly, the 30-degree signs) appear to us as a remote backdrop. The moon is nowhere near the constellations, as you point out. But when we see the moon in the night sky, the constellations appear as a distant background to the planets in the foreground of our perspective.

The zodiacal constellations are basically those (give or take,) through which the sun appears to traverse. It's basically a trick of optics.

As impressive as it is to see the constellations in the night sky, as astrology has, for many centuries, plotted planetary positions against 12 30-degree signs. Depending upon which system of signs you use, the signs may or may not overlap with the constellations for which they were named.

Ptolemy's Geocentric Model

In fact,
Galileo disproved Ptolemy's model :)

because
it did not match up to the observable phases of Venus,:)
so the model was not even accurate

with respect to what could be observed.
Additionally, Mars, Earth, and Venus
are not always on the same side of the sun

which Ptolemy's model contradicts :)
