These various systems of astrology are not going to be easy to reconcile, IMO. Chinese and Mayan being very different from Western & Vedic (which have many differences between them, as well).
IIRC Meso-American (including Mayan) astrology has a major relationship to the eight year cycle of Venus. It is known the Meso-Americans had extensive observational tables of the transits of Venus. The cycles defining their complicated calendar calculations may have to do with the interactions of planetary periods.
It has also been demonstrated that Meso-American sacred sites were built with extensive use of astronomical alignments, both seasonal and with the fixed stars. That has been demonstrated beyond doubt.

The Chinese variation of astrology, as also used in Mongolia and Tibet, includes much more than the 12 animal signs in common knowledge in the West. I was exposed to it many years ago but unfortunately gave up on learning it too, and my books are in storage now.
As I recall it used the Chinese system of Lunar mansions as a basis.
