Wondering how this feels for other people.

I have a Virgo Sun with a Leo Moon, which makes for a lot of tension inside. Criticial Virgo is always chastising silly Leo. I'm modest and humble, and proud and attention-seeking...don't feel comfortable asking for the attention I apparently need more than other moons...etc etc

All difficult Sun Moon combos interest me, especially

Aquarius with Cancer
Virgo with Sagittarius
Aquarius with Leo

So share...

We're a mosaic of energies - any chance of posting your chart so that I can make a further interpretation?

btw - neighbouring signs like virgo and leo can actually work well together. Leo is partly about creating, while Virgo is about sharing and providing an avenue where we can service others (this is where what you have created in Leo comes in and can be of use) :)

Thanks Joseph for that insight. I know some Virgos with Pisces moons, and I think it's a lovely combination. Never known a Pisces with a Virgo moon, I imagine that is amazing- imagination but grounded.

So if I have the sun in the 12th house, that gives Virgo a tint of Pisces?

I don't figure out how to post my chart, so here are the basics:

Libra Rising with Venus in Libra, Saturn and Pluto in Scorpio in the first house

Uranus in Sagittarius in 2nd house

Neptune and Mars in Sagittarius + Jupiter in Capricorn in 3rd house

Leo moon in the 10th house

Virgo Mercury in 11th house

Virgo sun in 12th house

To me that looks like I am goign to spend my whole life investigating who I am and being of service to the general public. No marriage, no children, not much money, no stable home!

I agree. I think that most people are made better when they have sun in one sign and planets in a neighbouring one. Typically Mercury & Venus can fall there because they are always close to the sun.

For me, having mercury in Virgo means that I'm a bit slower and more analytical than most Leo's. Equally I know Sun sign Virgo's who benefit from a bit of Leo energy making them a bit quicker and more fiery.

You can apply that anywhere around the zodiac ... Aries people will be a bit less egotistical because they have Piscean energy; or air sign Gemini's with a bit more empathy and compassion from having some Cancerian water present.

I have an Aries sun and Cancer moon which seems to be a really strange combination on paper and when you think about it...All of the books and experts say this shouldn't work out and that there should be alot of conflict and yet, here I am...

Regardless, I have come to find that there are some positive things that have come about from this combo and it's really in how you use it and how you look at it...

For me, my Aries sun is grounded by my Cancer moon...I don't fly off the handle or go crazy at the slightest frustration, instead I think before I act...Also, I still have the assertiveness and confidence of a fire sign but I'm also able to benefit from the intuitiveness of my water sign (so I can sense and feel out things before proceeding)...I am a bit more emotional than your typical Aries but also fiercely loyal and protective of those I care about (just not in a smothering way)...I do have that "Let's Go!" mentality, it's just not as dominant as my full fire counterparts but is that really a bad thing???...

So, I think it really goes back to what you make of it and how you view it...It can be good or bad, but I believe in being who you are with no superficial strings attached...Hope this helps!

Hi Lowen

You have some large representations of collective/universal energies. This does mean that you will be playing a key role in helping humanity/general public. However I would advise you to allow your Leo Moon to shine in the house of your career/calling. Even though you said you worked beind the scenes, your warmth will be very much appreciated by those you come into contact with. Brightening their day so to speak you certainly do!

Pluto Scoprio in first house shines with a magnetic and powerful quality. Healing body work with yourself and others will be evident with this placement. Libra Ascendant draws the heart driven and love finding Aries energy to you - in this way you appreciate someone who takes initiative to win your attention. You also like to have options up your sleeve ;) Libra Ascendant makes you a pleasure to have around in social circles.

Hard aspects to sun/moon suggest divorced or divided parents
May I suggest you read the 'welcome to the world of astrology’ and other ---sticky' at the top of this forum? It has some great explanations, links etc. At the top of every forum there are lots of ‘stickys’ which explain matters in that forum, along with guidelines & tips

There is a 'plethora' of information on AW, espec in the 'stickys' at the top of every forum, our Education forum and Recommendations forum to. Plus we have a good search feature,[but not foolproof obviously, so try here first] bit like google using keywords – initially select advanced and try just selecting 'titles' rather than posts or you'll get too many threads. If this doesn’t get results then try google

Basic astrology
Now basically your sun sign is your 'core beliefs, values, ego' and Asc is your physical body, mode of expression and mask and persona that we all wear and hide behind, but definitely not what's going on underneath. What's going on underneath is your Sun sign. Moon sign, house placements and aspects describe your emotional and intuitive responses, also describes your view of your mother, as saturn describes your father by sign and house position.

So, think of a glass milk bottle the bottle is your Asc and your sun the milk, but the milk still has to 'come out' through the glass neck of the milk bottle....

Now aspects within a natal chart represent 'facets' of our personality, because we are all multifaceted beings. What these do is 'break down and compartmentalise' these facets into smaller bite size chunks. This does take quite a lot of self analysis and objectivity to 'see yourself' and why you do certain things and behave in certain ways. Actually it can be quite good therapy...

Remember back to your school days an opposition is 180', square 90', trine 120', and sextile 60' Now challenged aspects are conj (depending on the planets, cos some like each other and some really don't) squares and oppositions. Easy aspects are conj (if the planets get along) eg: Jupiter conj Moon, sextile and trine. Quincunx is inbetween (depending on the planets) causes health strains and unresolved or hard to balance planets/energies.

Astrologer50 - Couldn't agree with you more on how "we're all multifaceted"...I think we would all be so boring and dull if we were just "one-size fits all" individuals...a person doesn't need to be exciting to be original, but you've gotta have some sort of uniqueness that makes you "you"...to me, I take all of this info in stride, listen to it, find interest in it and then move forward (on my own accord)...

I love astrology because it's interesting and it explores aspects of ourselves which may enlighten us...like others, I take it with a grain of salt...it's very interesting but there's always the free-will aspect that I believe must come into play...but it's that "discovery" feeling that really interests me and the "possibilities" that go along with it...just my two cents...

I dont know why you say Leo Moon is silly. I take it there is no aspect between them??

The aspects to those bodies are needed to be seen before we can comment really.

I have a Leo Sun and a Taurus Moon and being fixed they are hard to reconcile. They are in wide square but it shows that my yin and yang in that regard is in conflict.

Leo wants to buy luxuries, have a good time and is generous but the Moon is cautious with money and more practical. So I compromise by buying mostly bargain and on sale items.

I agree that astrology should be used for guidance and self awareness and we are all unique......of course. Even twins do differ.
Knowledge is power and the more we know ourselves the better our lives can be. Some things are fated but it is what we do with what we are presented with, that makes us who we are.

I've attributed the clowning around part of me to Leo energy..and no aspect between sun and moon, no

I have Gemini Sun squaring Pisces moon. I'm pretty much a scatter-brain nervous wreck. Very psychic, very sensitive, all over the place.

Imagine a lively, brightly colored butterfly that dances in the sunlight, from flower to flower to flower, and then in a split second, morphs into a fish, plunges into the ocean and swims down into the dark watery depths, out of sight, before you can even blink.

I find that a lot of people are confused at how different my exterior personality--a chatty intellectual butterfly who can talk at great length about just about anything under the sun and laughs a lot --is so different from my interior side--a quiet, nebulous water nymph who speaks in riddles and symbols, is easily overwhelmed by cosmic vibrations and cries a lot. My Gemini side seems shallow and self-centered while my Pisces side is empathetic and selfless to a fault. I understand this strange dichotomy, but other people feel bewildered by it. Sometimes they don't take my Pisces side seriously because they think my Gemini sides is all there is to me, and I'm deeply hurt by that, of course. No surprise that Gem-Pisces combos are usually said to feel perpetually misunderstood.

sounds challenging for you but wonderful. Although perhaps sounds like you could do with a bit of Taurus or something..!

My impulsive Aries Sun is tempered by the calculating Capricorn Moon. They're not square in aspect but the signs in which they reside are square to each other.

I don't have much earth in my chart. I have Saturn in Taurus, conjunct my Venus Gem, which gives me excellent artistic tastes yet lots of romantic woes.

I have Virgo rising, and my Sun and Merc in the 10th house, so actually people mistake me for a Earthy type. A lot of people first assume I must be a Capricorn because I can be unapologetically proud, authoritative and stubborn (my Uranus/Aquarius influences add to that vibe too).

But yes, overall, my chart is very airy--Sun, Merc, Venus, Mars, MC and a 1st house Uranus singleton in air signs, ad I have a loose air grand trine. My Moon is in the 7th house, and its ruler Neptune is also a singleton in my chart. Definitely could use a little more earth!

LunarPisces, I am the same! I have Gemini Sun and Pisces Moon. My sun and moon sextile, so I have that going for me. My moon is also trine Neptune and I also have lots of 12th house stuff going on. Majorly psychic dreams (as in prophetic, especially about my neighbors in my development - it's very accurate!!) Psychic in other ways, too. But I can't control it or use it at will, unless I meditate or do tarot readings (which force me to be still).

I talk so much but yet I have this spiritual slant to it, some "in the clouds" way of conversing. I'm so empathic that I do not EVER watch the news. I cry at the smallest things and have never been afraid to show my emotions. My imagination runs wild and I love music, watercolor painting, reading, beauty (Venus in Taurus) and try not to come off as superficial (because my inner thoughts are of anything but superficial stuff).

It's like I know I can be seen as superficial but yet I'm really not. But yet I can't let the moon influence show up as the first thing that people notice about me. It just doesn't come. It's when others get to know me that they refer to me as the "zen girl"!

I have this also. I honestly think having that Moon in Sag takes some of the edge off my Virgo - it is in my first house as well - I can see it when it comes out. I have a minor aspect between them. That and my mars in Sag make me less Virgo. Those and my Venus are the Fire in my chart. I really think if they were in other signs I might a bit boring and dragging honestly - like dry earth or muddy with my Scorpio Rising. I need that fire. It does feel a bit like a contradication but I think I am glad it is there. I think it is interesting, even if a bit crazy. I have a lot of squares to my Sag Mars though and I don't like that.
