solar arcs are really simple principle and very easy for newcomers to experiment with.

Solar Arcs
Solar arcs are really simple, especially for beginners, just move the Angles, Asc, Desc, MC, IC 1' for each year of your life onto planets and vice versa. Not just used for rectification either. Under age 12 though these interpretations are directed towards family changes, maybe relocation, job changes, illnesses, additions to family etc.....

Further research on solar arcs try these threads.

Rectification of birth time

· Transiting Pluto square, conj opp Asc, Desc, MC, IC
· If under 12’ when it conj an Angle then their age was under age 12 it’s parents adjustments. A death, change within father’s work, a separation, remarriage.
· Adults or teens, 1st job, identity transformation MC.
· Pluto conj Desc = death, health concerns, geographic, significant relationship or break up, but has to be ‘life transforming’
· Also try transiting Neptune, something dissolving, disappearing, confusing etc.
· Timings of transits… is it the 1st hit? More often it’s the middle retrograde hit… but could be the last direct hit also. 1’ =4minutes in time.

Thanks for this :)

When you say move the angles, is that counter clockwise? I assume so, but i want to check.

Doing a quick look then, I see my MC came conjunct with Pluto by solar arcs round about age 27 which I uhh, think I know what that was about

yes, everything moves anti clockwise
SOLAR ARCS AND SOL ARCS

you can research some of my intepretations of these on solastrology.blogspot.com and also lovesigns7.blogspot.com

I use solar arcs as the 1 degree per year progression for each planet.
But mostly the solar arcs of the SUN, MOON, rising, and midheaven.

I also use 2 other forms of solar arc progression. One is called the sol arc progression, which is simply the 60th harmonic sun and moon, rising, and midheaven (birth time must be exact to know these). These are progressed to planet conjunctions, or to main planet or cusp points.

SOL METHOD: use solar arcs and sol arcs, compare only conjunctions to and of the sun, moon, rising, and setting, mc and Ic.
(8 points in all - 4 each for the 1x and the 60x sol harmonic chart) - a very clear of a person's career. timing, and life purpose as Soul, and the individual in this life. Basically, this theory is TO FOLLOW THE SUN.

Another form of solar arcs is the 1 degree per decade, or 1 day per decade progression. I also find value in 1 degree per century, but also will progress the sol chart (60th harmonic) or just use the solar chart arcs -
both backwards or forwards, for past lives, and different rates of speed.
Try the 1 degree of ascendent per year, for example.

Solar Arcs are excellent tools. A highway of Astrology.

Solar arc direction is one of the oldest predictive techniques in astrology :)
Solar arc is defined as
the difference between the position of the progressed Sun & natal Sun on any particular day.
This arc is then added to every planet and point in the chart.

The arc is approximately equivalent to the individual's age

"It appears that this problem did not get smoothed out in astrological practice until early in the Twentieth Century! ... Bridging into the Twentieth Century, two German astrologers dramatically confirmed the efficacy of Solar Arcs as a streamlined and exacting prediction technique. Alfred Witte (1878 - 1941) ... Reinhold Ebertin (1901 - 1988)"

Personally, I like Secondary/Major and Minor progressions, but they do get complicated.
I think the Solar Arcs seem to usually produce events, outer stuff, whereas the sec. progr. are more inner work related. I haven't looked at sec. progr. that much though. Minors I have in the past, but I like to keep it simple. :)

I've seen statements like this before. Progressions (Major and Minor) and transits can definitely nail down tangible external events.
Simple is good, I agree.
I think when we really get down to identifying the celestial influences that correlate with events we realize it's more complicated than we thought.

I looked back at my sec progressions and current. I do think they are good at predicting, too. I hadn't ever looked too much at them till now.
