Very interesting. I might have to explore this more. My son and his wife are considering relocating and leaving California because of the outrageous cost of living and taxes. I'm hoping they don't because I want to be close to my granddaughter, but maybe I can help them find someplace not too far away. I might tinker with it.Yes, use them like basic synastry. Will we fit into our new society? is what we explore. Alice Portman says that if our natal vertex works favourably with a mundane area chart the outcome is usually positive. My natal vertex is conjunct the ascendant of where I moved twenty five years ago and I've never been happier [although my move was also an astrological election]; I was unaware of Portman's conclusions at the time. Another method [in terms of house symbolism] is to use a Geodetic chart for the area involved. In this method, each degree in East longitude equals 1 degree on the MC of location from 0 degrees Aries. So, 29 degrees East longitude = 29 Aries or 50 degrees would equate to 20 Taurus. We then take the ascendant from local latitude [table of houses]. Transits respond well to the Geodetic zodiac, and I always check lunations/eclipses using this method [my ACG software allows to swich to the Geodetic zodiac very easily]. Personally I've never heard of anyone using composites, and haven't tested it either [I'm not dismissing the idea at all. In fact it's probably worthwhile to explore]. Certainly would be worthwhile for an aspiring politician. Here in the UK, we often get two different types of local mundane maps. We have local government formation charts, and the Royal Charters granting more freedoms for the local people. These are typically the granting of permissions for local markets [the fairs were generally granted for religious festivals].
I do think my biggest question to start with will be to find which mundane chart to use for comparison. I was born and raised in California so I can't use my chart but my husband moved around a little so I might try his to start.
