Do I have it right that relative to the natal chart or Ascendant, the signs and houses seem to move clockwise, as do retrograde planets, whereas the planets moving direct move counter-clockwise (or anti-clockwise)?

Daily motion
The diurnal/daily motion of the signs/houses is clockwise, rising over the eastern horizon. The diurnal motion of the planets is also clockwise; they, too, rise over the eastern horizon..

Yearly motion
The yearly direct motion of the planets is counterclockwise through the signs [counterclockwise meaning they advance directly from lower to higher degrees of the sign]. If planets appear to retrograde, then they temporarily advance backwards [clockwise] through the signs from higher to lower degree.
