Someone who actually reads the planets? Preposterous.
The olde astrologers were meticulous in their choice of descriptors for the different conditions: the "Fixed" quality, the "Elevated" planet, "peregrine".
The word comes from Latin words whose ultimate meaning is "passing through a land". Peregrine is closely related etymologically to "pilgrim". It implies a "foreigner" or "wanderer". It may imply (as AJ points out) a pilgrimage of some sort, a mission.
It does not "speak the language" of its surroundings. Its actions may be suspect, even if innocent. On the one hand it stands out, on the other tends to stay to itself. It's out of place. Perhaps dependent on others for support and protection, and may stir up opposition. If on a mission, a sense of being driven; likewise if persecuted.
Imagination. What's it like to live as a foreigner, a wanderer, an immigrant...a stranger in a strange land? Just "passing through."
Old song, "Wayfaring Stranger"
"I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger while passing through this world of woe,
But where I'm bound ain't no toil nor danger in that fair land to which I go."
Thank you for the explanation (and I love the song you quoted),
So I'm on a pilgrimage, fantastically, going from say Beijng in China to Lourdes in France (Imagine as well that: I have some time to spend, some feet that just won't blister).
It's in particular well tended Farmlands and Jungles I do not feel comfortable with.
But hey I'm a pilgrim that should stand for something, I have some protection from that right? *Darn mosquitoes* I'm on my mission dang it, I demand protection thank you though.
In one place some angry citizens string me up to prevent me from doing any harm, before even having tea and a chat.
Other places eye-ball me for a degree or three and then 1 in 10 of the people there says: hi, offers a drink, asks about the mission I'm clearly on with my bare feet out in the open for all to see.
Anyways, questions come up if the nature of the planet relative to that of the lands he/it has no detailed maps from, nor is the language heared even remotely familiar, (planet finds itself to be peregrine) should be considered?
The Mercury in Cancer- example is great, I'll borrow a copy here: Mercury is so very adaptive in nature, in a sign ruled by the Moon. Part of the nature of Cancer is that it is able to adapt to the Moon, she's adaptive. Cancer knows how to deal with that. It's homy, cosy and very protective at times, home of the crying babies especially.
Is Mercury less bothered by being peregrine then others, am I still fantasizing?
Are Mercury and all the other planets for themselves, less peregrine in one place then in another, let's say by their nature/characteristics?
Another place in the zodiac that is.... yes, I also read Mercury absurdly present in one place or the other near me, while indeed still writing after all that words.
Excuse the form if it stirrs annoyance or other emotions, consider me Peregrine in the land of the answers to my question? You now how it is, being Peregrine, and now how you'd possibly react if you run into such pilgrim type people .
I'm serious with the questions though.
