Diving yacht Sea Storm sinks

Just before dawn on Nov.25th a distress signal was received from the diving yacht Sea Storm, which then sank just off the coast of Marsa Alam (Egypt).
Why did the yacht sink?
Rescue operations are still underway, 28 passengers have been rescued, 16 are still missing. It isn't clear if the missing persons are crew or passengers.
The yacht is one of many in the area, a popular spot for diving, and the passengers were of mixed nationalities.
The diving trip was due to last five days.
There had been severe weather warnings in the area over the weekend.
Not many details are available at the moment.

Looking at the chart, the first noteworthy aspect we see is moon approaching the opposition with neptune, involving the 10/4 houses.
The ascendent is at 0 degrees, the chart is calculated for 5:55am which is the official time for dawn at Marsa Alam.
Dawn would be 3 degrees sagittarius.
I tend to think something had occurred prior to the 0 degree ascendent, placing late scorpio on the ascendent.
This would make mars the significator.
Mars is exactly in the degree of the nodes and Moon last passed over mars.
It would also bring uranus near the 7th cusp.
But this is just supposition until more details are made public.

So, what happened to cause the yacht to sink?

Thanks for posting this , I had not heard of it. The closest I ever got to Marsa Alam (the western part of the Red Sea) a coastal hiatus, was by funding a young guy's bus ticket to go and get a job there in the Hurghada resort town for the summer which he did. I always wanted to go and now it's too late for us. We've been to Egypt 8 times, but never that far to the Red Sea ( I LOVE Red Sea Bass however) How sad to hear of this accident occurring. Lots of Russians and German people, Belgium go here as do English for vacations because of the lovely coral and dive sites.

My husband was in the Coast Guard so I had him watch the video, and he thinks its a bit suspicious (Scorpio Rising) because Yachts don't normally just sink - and there was no May-Day call or any type of info that tells us it was in trouble.

Planets don't have to be in a house, just the degree itself says it's problematic, (Critical) at the 0 degree. Same with the ASC and 8th house cusp.

The group of missing people includes 12 foreign nationals. The ship carried citizens of the U.S.,(2Americans) Belgium, Spain and Germany, along with citizens of the United Kingdom, China, Finland, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia and Switzerland.

The 2nd house across from the 8th is also 0 degree Capricorn, and the luxury sign Venus is here. However so is Pluto ALSO 0 degrees. Perhaps these two 0 degrees are alerting us to the fact that the ship itself had a bad life span or hex on it.

Also the midpoint of Moon and Chiron would be in the 8th in Cancer.

Neptune, Saturn and NN are in the fourth. Neptune opposes the Virgo moon.

That’s an interesting point leomoon, while the eighth has no planets, it does enter at critical zero aspecting at zero. I wouldn’t have considered that, thank you!

In line with the new information, I've adjusted the chart I posted yesterday for the updated time and place.

Anyone surprised to see the new chart has uranus exactly on the 7th cusp?
Uranus also co-rules the 4th house.

We now have mars as ascendent ruler. In the degree of the Nodes.

Mercury rules the 8th house, and is exactly opposing the 8th cusp.

The 4th is co-ruled by saturn, located in the 4th.

I have adjusted the time to 05:30 local time after reading the latest timing I could find for the original distress call, which gives an ascendant of 25 Scorpio 02 and MC of 29 Leo 52 [critical degree]. What jumps out is Uranus on the DESC with the antiscion of Mars within a few minutes of arc; the antiscion of Pluto squares the MC/IC axis within 1 minute of arc. All of the traditional planets are disposited by either Mercury or Jupiter, in mutual reception but in the signs of their detriments; Mercury is stationary and Jupiter retrograde. This mutual reception represents a closed circuit of energy. The Captain [Sun in Sag] seems too eager to get out [trine Mars in 9th], and has taken no notice of weather forecasts. The Moon in Virgo is in the 10th conjunct the antiscion of the node, whilst the Sun is also 165 degrees [Plutonian aspect of intense focus] from Jupiter. It seems the Captain is arrogant in his haste and delegating much responsibility on the crew [Moon in 10th]. No doubt the crew were not happy with the opposition to Neptune. It looks like too much emphasis on reputation and outer appearances [Mercury/Jupiter across 1st/7th] have got in the way of common sense. A disaster waiting to happen. The Asc represents the body of the boat and those that sail in it; Uranus and antiscion of Mars breaks the boat apart. If we set the eclipse of 2nd October we see Uranus in 12th square MC/IC axis, with the eclipse degree being within 1 minute of arc of the event ASC. If we also look at the geodetic angles, we find the antiscion of ascendant opposite Mars and antiscion of Uranus in square to geodetic MC at 4 Taurus 54.

Checking out Neptune 4th hs of endings - 27 deg.11 Pisces is opposed to the Moon. This is the location of fixed star Scheat - (Pegasus) related to sorrow and water.

Just a little bit of research. Egyptian firm Dive Pro Liveaboard has lost three boats in just under three years. The Scuba Scene was lost through a fire on 19th April 2022, and its replacement called the Sea Legend was also lost through fire on 22nd February 2024; I have no timings. As several here know, in these circumstances I often use a Geodetic zodiac which gives angles/house cusps for a given location. This system is based on ones longitude, placed on the MC with the ASC derived from latitude/table of houses. In our case in hand 34 degrees 54 East of Greenwich equates to 4 Taurus 54 on the MC and giving an ASC of 8 Leo 56 ; a very simple calculation. I just used the same times and coordinates, but found some interesting results. In the chart of the Scuba Scene we find Saturn in a T square with the nodes; NN in Geodectic 10th/SN 4th with Saturn in 7th. The antiscia of the nodes cut exactly through the Geo ASC/DEC axis with Saturn now in 4th house square. A Jupiter/Neptune conjunction at 24/25 Pisces opposite the Moon of Sea Story and their antiscions on the South Node of Sea Story; Mars was at 3 Pisces 02. Its replacement the Sea Legend had the Sun at 2 Pisces 59, the Moon opposed a tight conjunction of Venus/Mars at the last few minutes of 6 degrees Leo/Aquarius; the Geo ASC/MC = 21 Gemini 55, the semi squares being 6 degrees Taurus/Leo. Antiscion of Jupiter = 10 Taurus 02 and antiscion of Uranus is at 10 Leo 38 { well within orb of Geo ASC]. The Sea Story has Sun at 3 Sagittarius, the Scuba Scene has Mars at 3 Pisces and the Sea Legend the Sun at 3 Pisces. Question: Has Dive Pro Liveaboard got the 3 degrees mutables prominent in the company chart?
