VP Kamala Harris: next president?

Oh, cite Liz Greene all you want!

I'm not sure that this would help Harris, but transiting Saturn is retrograde on Election Day, so it is separating from Harris's natal Chiron. It separates, as well, from the opposition to her natal Uranus.

Donald Trump's transits on Election Day are kind of interesting. Jupiter conjuncts his NN in the 10th, which looks really promising for him. Ditto for moon Venus hitting his natal moon, which opposes his natal sun NN.

However, transiting Jupiter is in detriment and retrograde. It's not quite the boost Republicans hope for, but with both candidates having retrograde planets in their 10th house, I'm wondering about delays in the vote tally, or a recount. (As happened in 2000 and 2020.)

What happens in November after 99+ % of the ballots are essentially cast (minus absentee ballots from overseas,) is that the state's designated election official certifies the vote, which determines the state's Electoral College balloting.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Chiron will all be retrograde on November 5, so It wouldn't surprise me if there were a delay in the final election results.

Not really. As explained previously, the deadline for paperwork filed by other potential contenders has passed. On August 1, convention delegates will vote electronically for her nomination. Harris has already obtained pledges from the great majority of convention delegates that they will vote for her.

Do your astrological methods predict a different outcome? On what basis?

Monk, I admire your work with fixed stars. Do you want to predict who will win the general election?

This gets a bit complicated. November 5 is the official Election Day, but it can take more than a day for enough votes to be counted for the major networks to project a winner. Also, some states allow early voting. I think the earliest one is Pennsylvania, on September 16. Most of the dates are in October.
Hi Waybread,
This is difficult as i feel both sides use electional astrology, but Trump cannot have any influence over when Pennsylvania goes to the polls on 16 September, this is a swing state:-
This matters, as well as the assassination attempt of Trump, we don't comment on this as is on going.
I'm not keen on Trump, but i would see him winning to become President.
Lets look at Pennsylvania on 16 September....
It Has a Kite by Sunrise day Marker and Jupiter is near M.C. with projected measure Alnilam within one degree of M.C. by projected measure:-
We need to wait till tomorrow on 1st August....

one doesnt need to wait for all votes to be counted, unless its neck and neck.

we will see what the road holds because these two have their own brand of advantages and weaknesses over and above the core party faithfuls that will vote reliably.

@Monk why do you say wait for August 1?

the moon at Sept 16 chart is at pisces, with two day run….sufficient to vote and count. sun virgo….female signs with a lot of obstacles last of which is conj neptune. That just means voting all over the place.…likely anti female….and a lot just hiding…ie low turnout. No favourite. Unless those that dont vote are the fish swimming opposite direction in which case strong support for one candidate with the rest hiding.

Trump has transit Jup conj his moon node so that makes him beneficiary of public mood.

Harris has transit saturn opp her Plu for that duration and longer. Thats between a rock and a hard place right there. Cant see it being helpful. No influece to bear at that point will be helpful.

and by then we are in the shadow of the lunar eclipse, which at 24 pisc is very unhelpful for her.

it forms a tsquare for Trump so some serious personal attacks will be made but with trine to saturn venus he might be stable. He will feel the public is with him and maybe that is helpful.

come the voting booth I think every trick in the book will be thrown in. So we can look all we like all along, but we should expect neptune to play a strong hand at moment of voting or counting. Cant wait to see who is the VP to see neptune placement. So far the Rep VP seems to be scoring own goals every day! between his scoring and Trumps childish stunts, I dont know why Harris’ chart is difficult…. Should be creaming it.

Hi Waybread,
I think 1 August will be an auspicious day, in Washington DC, Sirius rises with the Sun.

What’s the Democratic Party’s plan? For a candidate to challenge Vice President Harris, what would have to happen?
By July 27Candidates declare interest in presidential nomination. After declaring intent to run by July 27, all candidates must show support from at least 300 delegates by July 30, with no more than 50 delegates per state allowed.
Starting Aug. 1If Harris is the only candidate, delegates vote electronically on Aug. 1 and she becomes the nominee. If more than one candidate is qualified, voting is set to begin around Aug. 3. If no candidate receives a majority in the first round, then the top two advance to a second round of balloting.
By Aug. 7The nominee chooses a running mate.
Aug. 19 to 22Delegates convene in Chicago. Democrats hold a ceremonial roll call vote for the presidential and vice presidential nominees, as well as vote to approve the party's platform.
Hi Outlook,
Reason is above.

Today during the electronic roll call of Democratic convention delegate votes, the party announced that Kamala Harris has now acquired enough delegate votes to be the official nominee. She is expected to announce her VP choice soon. The VP candidate does not go through a similar vote, but is normally vetted and accepted at the convention.

Not seeing her chart, I will think that 11th house in her chart and or 4th house of relocated chart gives her a chance. But if she has a Yod involved and apex in 10th or 11th house, maybe not. These are things I ask before I go back pages and pages to look at the charts that people put up. Her 7th house 10th house relationship is pretty clear - marry to wealth and stature. Definitely an issue of men boosting her up in her career, as shown in who encouraged and promoted her. I think that 3rd/9th house could be problems in her chart - Mercury involved. My late night thought.

Harris's chart is linked in the OP and here:

She has no natal planets in the 7th house. Her 7th house is ruled by Jupiter in the 12th, which squares Mars. Which is interesting, because prior to becoming Senator and VP, she worked as a prosecutor in various levels of government in California. Here I think of the 7th as the house of open enemies. The 12th house rules prisons, and she did send convicted defendants to prison.

Harris did not marry until she was 50, after she had established her own career; when her husband Doug Emhoff was a lawyer in the CA entertainment industry. Nowadays I think his work is as Second Gentleman.

Erika Cohn is a documentary filmmaker. In 2020 a film of hers debuted on opening night at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival; it went on to win an Emmy for best documentary, and was nominated for a Peabody award.

It exposes California's state-sanctioned program that forced 1400+ female prison inmates, the majority of whom were women of color, to undergo surgical sterilization without their knowledge and consent. This occurred between 1997 and 2013.

Kamala Harris served as a senior state official in various capacities throughout this entire period, employed first by the Alameda County DA's office, before assuming office as San Francisco's DA (2004 - 2011) and then as California's AG (2011 - 2017).

The trailer for Cohn's documentary can be viewed at the link below; it opens with the statement:

"There is a culture of secrecy in California."

A write-up by The Guardian:

As significator for this top prosecutor's Sagittarian 7th house (those who stand accused, open enemies) and Piscean 10th (career), I'm not at all surprised to see her Jupiter tucked away in the malefic 12th house of hidden enemies, criminality, secrecy, deception, and prisons. Jupiter sits at the exact midpoint of an opposition between the two malefic planets Mars and Saturn situated in the 3rd and 9th, and while opposed by Neptune in the malefic 6th house.

This eugenics program occurred under Harris's watch. It was not ended voluntarily, or because it was the right and moral thing to do, it ended because state officials were caught. A solitary victim found out what had been done to her and became a whistleblower which led to discovery of 1400+ more.

I think the 2024 Aries Ingress chart is really deserving of a better read. Also cyclical charts are meant to be progressed.

Alaunus do you know if Harris was directly involved? I ask because the horrible forced sterilizations you speak of occurred prior to the 2020 election. Harris would have been thoroughly investigated in 2020 prior to being chosen as Biden's running mate. If she had that kind of political skeleton in her closet that could be used to trash Biden's election chances, I doubt that he would have selected her. Apparently Erika Cohn did not name Harris in her film.

There have been a number of revelations about California's forced sterilization programs. I looked at several articles about the sterilization program and problems with reparations after reading your post, including some that were not well disposed to Harris. Yet Harris's name didn't come up.

As a new prosecutor, Harris seems to have focused on sex crimes, but these were cases involving prosecuting perpetrators. Apparently she was able to change the depiction of teenage sex workers from criminals to victims.

I got the same reading you did of a prosecutor (7th house) career (10th) involving prisons (12th house.) That Mars square probably made her an aggressive prosecutor. I think she has defended her record of "putting away" criminals.

None of which is to say she should or shouldn't be the next president. The question is, do you think she will be?

I would welcome your interpretation of the 2024 Aries ingress chart and progressed charts.

from the link: From 1909 to 1979, under the state eugenics laws, California forcibly sterilized about 20,000 people in state institutions who were deemed “unfit to produce”.
Here is a link with the various Governors in the State of California - who I would think are the ones to blame, and even then, I don't know how they run the State, perhaps giving all the governance over to the wardens?

What I do know is Kamala Harris was just a child, perhaps a teenager during the last years of this eugenics law. She was born in 1964 according to an AA rated natal chart

And for the Astrology in keeping with the thread - I think having Jupiter in the 12th is a bonus actually. It is elevated here, as Pisces is the natural sign of this house of mysticism, quietude and deep thought. Jupiter belongs to Pisces, and is also square her 9th house Saturn in Aquarius,(exalted in it's own sign) another planet well placed and in the house of higher law. We never know what other souls are here to learn about themselves, but squares can be essential in the learning process.

Just for historical comparisons,
Not to mention Woodrow Wilson's stroke in 1919, which seriously incapacitated him, and definitely prevented him from performing the duties of his office for months. Compared to that Biden is the very picture of health.
As to what the whole world is alleged to know about the current President, as Mark Twain said, "The report of my death was an exaggeration."

Hi Waybread,
Firstly Sirius and Alnilam often come up with world leaders however it doesn't mean they make a good job of it!
Could time of 21:28pm for Kamala Harris be out for a few minutes?
If i try 21:25pm Asc. is conjunct Alnilam, as shown below:-

Hi Monk: both charts are rated Rodden AA. I don't know if rectification is in ordr.

Thanks for posting.

My person feeling is that with so many retrogrades on election day, the results may not be known immediately and/or may be contested.

I don't think Harris is likely to be the next president, based on reading her chart, but my reasoning is more based on guessing and intuition than it is on logic.

Basically, when I started learning more about Kamala Harris, I kept having this weird feeling that if I were in the same situation as her, I might do similar things. When I finally read her chart trying to figure out why, it was kind of unnerving. She has a Gemini Ascendant and Jupiter in Taurus in the 12th house, which is the same as my own natal chart. On top of that, she has Aries moon and Libra sun, which is the other way around in my chart, but the same basic conflict.

My feeling is that Harris is the kind of person who does better as a leader's right-hand man, so to speak. Someone who offers good advice, has good strategic timing, thinks about things deeply, is very relatable, but is hard to take seriously as a leader herself. That is to say, she was likely an excellent VP, but may not have what it takes to be president herself, at least not through an election. She has some charisma, but cares too much what others think of her and gets most of her charisma by adapting to others or being reasonable, appealing to common sense. She can't push through her own ideas and steamroll someone the way someone like Trump can.

My impression of American politics is that generally Americans tend to want someone strong, larger than life, someone who makes the impossible seem possible. Harris doesn't project that kind of energy at all. Another bad omen is this... Hillary Clinton also had a Gemini Ascendant, and people are already comparing her to Clinton in a negative way. Much of what can be said about Clinton could be said about Harris. She was reasonable, had decent experience, arguably it was her turn, outside forces rather than organic popularity pushed things so that she would be the nominee, etc. So I would be very surprised if this election went different from 2016. The only way I could see it happening is if Trump were to really mess up so badly that almost anyone could beat him.

Biden was mostly carried through on Obama's charisma because he was Obama's vice president. The country being in crisis and everyone doubting whether someone as dynamic as Trump was appropriate with such a serious, somber situation made it so that the country almost wanted to act like it was a situation where Obama was unable to serve and his VP was put in charge. That is, they wanted a return to normalcy, and Biden represented the status quo prior to Trump and the pandemic. Harris doesn't really have that advantage, she's tied to Biden's own presidency, which is controversial.

I also looked at the charts of past US presidents, and most presidents are thought to have had fixed or cardinal signs rising at the time of their birth. Notably, Leo was a very common rising sign, and I just find it hard to imagine someone like Harris with a Gemini rising being a leader in a country like the US, because she has this really nerdy vibe, and most Americans don't like that. Obama could get away with his Aquarius Ascendant making him a bit overly intellectual, because he managed to seem commanding and idealistic, if not a bit condescending, with a Leo sun and Aquarius being a fixed sign. I don't think Harris has his eloquence or ability to portray herself as an idealist, she's too pragmatic and eager to please the audience.

I know this is a somewhat superficial analysis that doesn't seem to consider as many chart factors as it could, hopefully that's fine.

I'm going to take a shot at reading her chart later, while I ponder on it. I'm undecided from her transits whether she will win or not.

I'm not American so I don't have any particular bias either way. And to be honest, I find her quite difficult to read in general 🤔 both astrological and not.

I know why that is, she has Neptune transiting her 10th house, so her public image would be rife with erroneous projections from both sides, or it may be confusing and vague to people where she stands? Or simply she could be someone that works mostly behind the scenes - she has the MC co-ruler Jupiter tucked away in her 12th house. She doesn't appear to have much of a strong public persona, I can't see any real charisma present, but with Neptune, that could be deceptive.

I could read up on her, but it's wading through all the biases, which as we all know, are mostly subjective narratives 🙄 it would be hard to get a true picture and would require a reliable media source to verify things (in this day and age, you're better off asking a unicorn!)

However, Mars (and nearly Jupiter but that will retrograde at 21°) are about to cross her Ascendant, so that may change things. And in time for her debate with Trump, early September? Uranus will also station retrograde 1st Sept, and head back towards her natal Jupiter. If she wins, it could be from sheer dumb luck!

Her own chart is a mixed bag! A night chart, with her greater benefic in fall in Virgo. And the greater malefic Saturn in domicile in Aquarius, which mitigates the adverse side of Saturn. And conjunct the MC. Moon in a masculine sign, ruled by her lesser malefic, Mars Leo. So she has a lot of "masculine" energies that may have been the driving force that has got her to this point so far.

Will come back to this later, the office beckons!

There is a sense that Trump has met her match in her, and that she could not be bullied in the way Clinton was. Never before had any contestant had to deal with the kind of intimidation Trump used against her. That seems to have rallied more voters behind the democrats. But as the astrology says, the stars seem to be more favourable for Trump on the big day. Then agaln, presidencies are not easy.

Penguin Trauma, sometimes Neptune is the visionary. It biquintiles her AC and closely sextiles her Venus.

Early voting begins in Pennsylvania on Sept. 15. I don't know if the opening time will be state-wide or will vary by county.
