What's behind the unrest in the UK? (and in Bangladesh)

There are so many things that have been leading up to this going way back. I suspect no one could have predicted the rioting that has taken place this last weekend though.
Hi Nexus, although because of the terrible heat here in Rome I lack the strength to catch up with any of the tremendous world events taking place, I feel like make a large-range comment, good for the world all over: cows have left the stables and disorder and chaos are spreading everywhere. Things have been let go, senseless somehow, all over the world, pursuing a sort of illogical search for unrealistic goals, and in the meantime, the worse had time to get organised, manoeuvering sprawling fingers, pulling strings so that catastrophic events take place everywhere, often at the very same time. To me, it is not the people itself. Yet, trouble is, the very same lot of people are prone at being treated like puppets. Remember the Arab Springtime insurrection. Out of the blue. All North African Countries erupted together... Was it just by chance...
And if we look at very devastating events, even turning world equilibrium upsidedown, we can clearly see that events like such are not befalling us by chance. We had ways of analysing quite a few, on astro.com Forum, in the past years.

Always keep in mind the ancient primary question: Cui prodest? The answer won't fail.

Ciao csodaviplamagmar

I heard the temperatures reached well beyond 40 degrees in Italy last year. I am in Hungary. It has been hot here this year though luckily not yet going beyond 40 degrees in most places.

If global warming makes some countries less habitable, water less available and reliance on sir conditioning makes this essential for houses and whole domed areas, then there is going to be a massive scramble for these resources. That could lead to a whole lot of ugliness I am sure.

I know some astrologers are pessimistic about the shape of things to come because of a long-term square between Pluto (the nameeans concentration of wealth) and Huamei, resources again. Eris is still on its long trajectory in Aries, though it doesn't currently seem to be sparking off too many discordant aspects with other planets. Israel and Gaza currently seem to be doing very nicely without these though. But back to the UK, one simple explanation could be the fact that it has been summer. Come to think of it, maybe heavy solar storm a tivity does raise the temperature regarding comented grievances too.

Those little sextiles to a bigger trine could indicate ingenuity in finding solutions to this warming through/ smart houses, greening the cities, creating food out of air, and so on.

Regarding your last question: since 1979, the UK has become more and more about the one percent, that sector of rich and privileged to whom most others end up being inveigled to sing for their supper. Very much like the US. But it seems to be very easy to deflect awareness away from the fact that it's impossible for everyone to become a Jeff Bezos, a king or a queen. It's easy to do. Look for a scapegoat. In the UK that has mostly been the poor. Not difficult to find the other big one. The astrological question then might be, just how much do charts for countries begin to reflect the character that evolves in a country?

Nexus, loved Budapest so much...
Poorness and richness are unsolvable maladies. I always thought people would be much well off and possibly happier in their own native countries, developing natural skills and living on what their own land provided them with, in line with their DNA. Only greed produced the big mess all around. We are taught that everything and every level are to be reached by degrees yet, world population has been pressed to become a full bunch of simpletons in order to move them around at will, for the benefit of few. This is the deadliest maladie of all.

Countries charts used to be useful. Lost so much practice since closure of astro.com forum that I shall be feeding on you all for quite a while, am afraid. ciao

I'm sorry Humanitarian, but I must take you to task when you say that 'Taurus rules mundane matters'. The word 'mundane' means of the world, from this we get Mappa Mundi [map of the world], or Anima Mundi [soul of the world]. Taurus is a fixed earth sign; hardly worldly. In the mundane world it may try to keep the status quo going, but it does not rule mundane matters. In terms of the world, Sagittarius is far more active, as is Aquarius in terms of societal issues. Politics in general comes under Capricorn, but nowhere do I see a Venus ruled sign to be a significator of mundane affairs.
In fact, the thing about mundane astrology is that all planets and all signs have their corelations. Taurus has sway over finance, and Uranus free market economies, put the two together!
For me, my definition of mundane is different than yours. The word "mundane" in this case doesn't mean worldly matters, that would be ruled by Capricorn, but everyday matters, which is Taurean.

Please let me remind you in a very non offensive manner of what you wrote: 'Taurus rules mundane matters, so since then, social media apps play a more prevalent role of controlling the masses around the world'. This use of language unfortunately does indicate that you are advocating the use of Taurus as an indicator of mundane in the worldly sense.

Misconceptions About Mundane Astrology in the Media

Sorry Jup, but I really haven't got the time to watch this at the moment. From what I know, that great mundane astrologer Andre Barbault accurately forecast a pandemic at the time that covid emerged. Personally I was able to forecast a massive slump in British finances related to the Jupiter 0 Pluto cycle; this correlated to the same week of our first lockdown. Related to this post, I'm trying to write a critical review of mundane charts that we have for London as a city. I'm hoping it will get some grey matter moving for those interested.

Pluto and Saturn doing what Pluto and Saturn do, to the UK natal chart, the New year one that is.

The only new year chart for the UK is the 1801 chart. Unfortunately, the progressed ASC of this = the natal ASC of the the Labour Party chart. According to the chart of the Labour party, the progressed Sun is now applying to the conjunction of Pluto [very close to their ASC]. It's now very much in Labours hands/on their head according to the astrology. Yes, transiting Pluto is going towards, but also refraining [at the moment] to the opposition to 1801 Jupiter; changes to the masses of money. But transit Uranus is conjunct the Labour Party's Jupiter in 12th [ruler of DESC]; undoing by reforms by focussing too much on financial affairs to do with foreign policy.Transit SA 90 Labour Pluto; stark reality of Change

Let's see what happens during Eclipse season, as we have a South Node eclipse at 10° Libra hitting a sensitive point on the Jan 1801 UK chart

We had the election and switch to Labour right on a New Moon Cancer at 14° on 5th July - only 5° away from the natal Moon Cancer.

Naturally this has stirred the public (Moon) with emotional (Cancer) narratives, both good and bad. The public reaction (Moon) has been focused on preserving home security, issues of safety, protecting the homeland (in this case, the country), themes of nurturing and family (the NHS and Care sector), "tribal" or nationalistic mindsets. Cancer can have a militant side.

The new switch in power has been emotionally triggering. Labour/Starmer is deemed detrimental to the above issues of safety, family, nationalism, homeland. Labour's Neptune Cancer was activated by the New Moon, hence confusion and uncertainty, and a perception of deception (yeah I know it rhymes! 🙄😂)

The UK riots started when the Moon Gemini had joined an applying Mars/Jupiter conjunction in the 9th house, making an opposition to Mercury Sagittarius in the 3rd. Themes of immigration, our "neighbours being immigrants" being the subject of much discontent, leading to outright violence (Mars) based on ideology (Jupiter)

Mercury Sagittarius in 3rd activated, with calls to be heard on the topic, the feeling of being pushed aside and ignored by governments - note the transit Mercury Virgo, stationing retrograde square the natal Chiron Sagittarius in 3rd (unresolved wounds linked to immigration. Also wounds stemming from freedom of speech, literally!)

Note that Mercury rules youth too, most of the rioters were quite young. Only a handful that were in their 40s, 50s, very few in their 60s.

Jupiter Gemini transit makes a mutual reception to the natal Mercury Sagittarius, which is why the riots gained traction and was (astrologically) able to happen. Mars being the instigator.

Jupiter rules the 3rd house, hence the dominant theme of social media, and misinformation about the identity of the killer of those three young girls. A social media messenger (Mercury)

Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini, hence difficulty reconciling raw data with ideology.

I don't know which house(s) would indicate left or right wing in a country chart? If anyone could shed light on this? If it's the case? Astrologically I can't therefore comment on the "far right" issue yet.

Anyway, come October, we will see the Libra Eclipse square the Moon Cancer, and conjunct the Ascendant. Libra is about laws, justice, equality, fairness, diplomacy, compromise, negotiations. The legal system. Courts, judges. Starmer is a former lawyer, so quite literal there.

Mars will be around the same-ish degree of the Cancer New Moon of early July. So there could be a crisis point, similar to a first quarter lunar phase. Mars is in fall in Cancer, difficulty reconciling bold action with staying safe.

I haven't decided what potential could occur during the Eclipse, only that Starmer may be pushed right to the forefront of the UK stage, as the "Libra", whereas currently he seems somewhat behind the scenes most of the time/saying very little.

A force for good or ill, I'm undecided on that part. Maybe it will become clearer near the time.

It's a South Node solar eclipse, so something or someone may even be eclipsed out. Will it be Starmer himself that is eclipsed out. Maybe not, he's far too new on the scene, so it doesn't fit in with South Node themes.

Maybe some long standing laws, policies, justice systems, some of the current legal systems (especially old laws that have served their purpose - South Node) being eclipsed out? 9th house ruler, Mercury Libra conjunct the Eclipse, so quite likely.

It may not be received well, or there may be a backlash, given the Eclipse squares the Cancer Moon (public). The ruler of the Eclipse, Venus is in detriment in Scorpio, so it may even be perceived as ruthless.

Edit to add: the Solar Eclipse exactly squares the Sun Capricorn! Hmm, I hope King Charles will be okay 🤔

I havn't seen much evidence of Labour focusing too much on financial affairs to do with foreign policy. The other transits you draw attention to could indicate an awareness that a new approach needs to be taken to crises such as homelessness? There is talk of blaming these people less for their predicament.

I would be more curious to see the chart of the Tory Party.

Firstly I don't argue politics, essentially I am a mundane astrologer so try to keep politically neutral. Kier Starmer has decided to try and undo Brexit which will cost God knows how much. He is giving 70-90,000 boat people an amnesty all of which take priority for housing over homeless Brits. He is about to sell out our fishermen who have just invested countless millions for a 'better' deal with the EU; it goes on and on. None can fathom British politics properly without a full understanding of the Uranus/Neptune cycle, just as we can't fathom the masses of money without a full understanding og the Jupiter/Pluto cycle. The three main British political parties all resonate to the Uranus/Neptune cycle; the Conservatives have the square, Labour have the opposition and the Liberal Democrats the conjunction. Note that in the functioning chart of the EU, the Uranus/Neptune conjunction is the closest aspect of the entire chart. This conjunction is on the DESC of the conservative party; the point of negotiation and open enemies. This conjunction was quincunx Labours Pluto [and their prog Sun]; adjustments to be made. But it was also quincunx/semi sextile to their MC/IC axis; they don't know what to do with it. Their Jupiter in Taurus in the 12th now has transiting Uranus conjunct and in hard aspect to that of the triple conjunction Sun/Jupiter/Pluto in the chart of the Bank of England. The political Jupiter/Saturn cycle is now at its waxing square, with Jupiter simultaneously making sesquiquadrate aspect to Pluto and all knocking on the door of the Labour party progressed Sun. Their popularity is dropping by the day. Please find the Conservative Party chart.
