'The King of Parts': The Part of Hyleg

As promised, here's what I have to say about the Hermetic Lot of Eros, and the reverse formula switching the "Significator, the pre-natal syzgy Moon, closest to the time of birth, with the "Trigger", the natal Moon.
The Lot of Eros is said to be about those that you do seek to be your compadres, your posse, your brethren, etc., on your spiritual path [or, possibly, career path, for those not spiritually inclined. But I believe the whole purpose of the influence of the "stars", the luminaries, the planets, and the Sabian Symbols for all 360 degrees, is intended by God, our Creator, to be for our spiritual evolution. As Edgar Cayce once replied that, while there are other life forms, other intelligent life out there in the universe, humankind is unlike all the others,and we are the only life forms that possess eternal souls and reincarnate.

As it was the discovery of the natal chart for Yeshu'a/Jesus of Nazareth that led to the discovery that the Astrological Parts are symbolically significant, as to the Sabian Symbols, as that natal chart is a "template" of true Astrological knowledge and understanding, what I like to call the "Rosetta Stone of Astrology"... I will begin with the two Lots, of Eros and the reverse formula Lot of Eros, derived from that natal chart, and then present my own. I think most of you that are reading this will "see it", as to, not only further validate, the fact that Astrological Parts are symbolically significant, but also that these two Parts truly describe the aforementioned brethren you seek and those that will seek out the likes of you.

The Hermetic Lot of Eros derived from that natal chart for Yeshu'a/Jesus is at 24* 19' 43" [which also happens to be the same Sign and degree, as my natal M.C. and my natal Part of Fortune, so I know this Sabian Symbol very well indeed.] This symbolism describes the type of people that Yeshu'a sought for his entourage, his disciples. [ibid.]

"LEO 25°: A LARGE CAMEL IS SEEN CROSSING A VAST AND FORBIDDING DESERT.

KEYNOTE: Self-sufficiency in the face of a long and exhausting adventure.

The camel here represents a living organism that is able to sustain itself independently of its environment at the start of a trying journey. (The original formulation of the symbol did not refer to 'a man on camel back.') The organism carries within itself what is absolutely needed for survival. At the deeper human level of consciousness it is easy to see the value of self-reliance and self-sufficiency as one enters the occult Path leading to a more dynamic and more inclusive realm of existence.

The camel carries water within its body, and it is said that the dromedary is able to utilize the matter stored in its large protuberance as food. The suggestion here is that in order to be released from bondage to the 'old world' we should be completely self-contained emotionally; having absorbed the mental food which this old culture has given us, we are ready to face 'the desert', nothingness, Sunya . . . until we reach the 'new world'. We need TOTAL INDEPENDENCE from our surroundings and utter SELF-RELIANCE."

There is a passage in the Bible, not sure in which book, but it has been erroneously translated from the Hebrew to read as,

A voice cries even in the desert a path to God [unquote], where as the correct translation should be;

A voice cries, "Even in the desert a path to God". [unquote]. That makes a heck of a lot more sense, doesn't it? I sure think so.
The kind of folk that Yeshu'a sought out were those that were able, were of the "right stuff", both mentally, physically, of the spiritual mettle, to find their own path. He was the "trail blazer", in my humble opinion. That is all so reflective of, a "Gnostic" faith, and when Edgar Cayce was asked, and answered, as to which of the thousands of sects of Christianity is closest to what Jesus actually taught, he replied, "the Gnostic". ...and they all did wander the desert quite a bit, now didn't they? So it may [quite possibly] be taken literally as well as esoterically symbolic.
By the way, the 25th degree of Leo just so happens to also be the location of the Part of Noble & Illustrious Acquaintance, it is at 24* :leo; 19' 55". What a trip, huh? So there's another Astrological Part that could be most helpful in discerning as for what purpose you were born unto this life for, this time around. The formula for that is Asc. + Venus - Part of Soul. In fact there is also another such Part to help you in your discernment, as there is a reverse formula Part of the same, and its about the type of people that will consider you as such.

As my natal Part of Inheritance & Legacy is the same Sign and degree that the Part of Fortune derived from the natal chart of Yeshu'a/Jesus, is in, the 19th deg. of Pisces, [ibid.] " A MASTER INSTRUCTING HIS DISCIPLE.", along other symbolically significant similarities, such as the composite charts' Part of Soul, that I share with that chart. I have to confess that I surely must have been given this lifetime role to play, that indicated by the 3rd deg. of Pisces, and that it also has to do, possibly even much more to do, with producing His natal chart.

The Lot using a reverse formula of the Hermetic Lot of Eros, that symbolically reveals the type of person that will seek you for the same role, derived from that natal chart of Yeshu'a/Jesus is at 07* 07', [ibid.]

"SCORPIO 8°: A CALM LAKE BATHED IN MOONLIGHT.

KEYNOTE: A quiet openness to higher inspiration.

One could stress the romantic suggestions such an image evokes, but even at the level of a love relationship what is implied is a surrender of two personal egos to the inspiration of transcendent feelings which are essentially impersonal. Love expresses itself through the lovers, for real Love is a cosmic undifferentiated principle or power which simply focuses itself within the 'souls' of human beings who reflect its light. The same is true of the mystic's love for God. Man strives hard to achieve great things through daring adventures, but a moment comes when all that really matters is to present a calm mind upon which a supernal light may be reflected.

This is the third stage of the forty-fourth five-fold sequence. It tells us that beyond all efforts lays the need for peace and the readiness to accept the illumination from above. The Keyword is QUIESCENCE."

Those are the type of people, those souls, that seek Yeshu'a, in his lifetime, and afterward, His true brethren, his disciples, the true Gnostic Christians, and all that seek Union with God. The bombastic evangelists, the fire and brimstone preachers, the clergy of the Vatican, aren't making an appeal to those type of souls. They are instilling fear of eternal damnation, eternal punishment, they aren't allowing their congregations to seek salvation, as Rudhyar so adeptly put it, "all that really matters is to present a calm mind upon which a supernal light may be reflected... beyond all efforts lays the need for peace and the readiness to accept the illumination from above."

Late edit. I don't know why the second half of this post came out in such a format. I did have to cut out a few following paragraphs, one explaining why I didn't get to my own Lots, but that I'll try to soon. I still haven't got used to this new format of writing here at the forum.

"CAPRICORN 23°: A SOLDIER RECEIVING TWO AWARDS FOR BRAVERY IN COMBAT.

KEYNOTE: The reward offered by society for the fulfillment of individual responsibility.

The fact that 'two' awards are emphasized makes us believe that this may refer subtly to the recognition by the community that, whether he succeeded or failed, an individual who discharged his duty nobly under unusual circumstances is entitled to the respect and appreciation of the collectivity he served so well. What is implied here is a constant give-and-take between society and the individual person. Each one should be able to trust the other.

This third symbol of the fifty-ninth five-fold sequence extracts, as it were, a common element from the two preceding scenes. The Keyword here is RECOMPENSE, i.e. a compensation for a well-done performance — a balancing of accounts."

Well, yes, these are the kind of people that I find to be those that I seek to be my spiritual compadres, and in a mundane sense as well. The key words I find to be most particularly relevant to myself is "...whether he succeeded or failed, an individual who discharged his duty nobly under unusual circumstances is entitled to the respect and appreciation..."
I think that most that are reading this know that old adage, "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you played the game.", or that is to say, "Gave it your best shot.", that one tried their best.

My Reverse Lot of Eros is in the 12th degree of Virgo... and I do so get a kick out of this one... so validating as to the work I'm trying to accomplish.

"VIRGO 12°: AFTER THE WEDDING, THE GROOM SNATCHES THE VEIL AWAY FROM HIS BRIDE.

KEYNOTE: The penetrating and unveiling power of the trained mind.

In contrast to the preceding symbol we have now a scene stressing a physical action with psychological and/or spiritual overtones. In ancient cosmologies the male god often appears in three roles as son, husband and father of the woman element of nature. Nature is fulfilled by the human mind and will that overcome her; she resists only better to be subdued by the power that transcends her, and by transcending her gives her a spiritual meaning. The element of 'training' in the symbolic scene comes from the fact that there has been a marriage ritual; thus the sociocultural factor is in the background. The teacher-guru is here the priest who has performed the ritual.

At this second stage the rules are reversed, the masculine element assuming the dynamic positive part in the great play of polarity. The masculine act balances the feminine dream visualization. The Keyword is UNVEILING. There can also be an unveiling of mysteries, long protected by secrecy."
