Should the Current Practice of Killing Animals For Food be Legally Considered as "Murder"?

I had a lovely package arrive today - I no longer buy any mass produced skin care products.

The hand wash from the supermarket was making my hands dry and so I started to look for natural skin care products.

I found a local business vegan soup house - not only do my hands not get dry anymore, I am also supporting a local business.

The same kind of thing happened with my diet - most Vegan meat alternatives contain wheat, something I cannot eat - and so I was forced to cook everything from scratch. So, for example, I make my own ‘mince’ now, using ground up walnuts, mushrooms and pumpkin seeds and freeze it for later use.

I don’t see my food sensitivities as a pain anymore - I still do to some extent, to be honest - but I believe my body is guiding me to be more healthy.

It could also be connected to all the shadow work I have focused on over the years as well. Instead of filing my body with gunk and poison, my body wants to be as free of shadows as my mind is becoming.

If you look after the universe, the universe looks after you.

Here we see some gorgeous soaps, with scent combinations like kelp and tea tree, frankincense and tangerine. A rejuvenating facial mask made from clay, bamboo and rose petals. There is also a bag of 20 bamboo face pads that you can reuse and wash and an organic cotton face cloth. Thee is also something called a ‘konjac’ sponge, which is Japanese, and you just need to use water to soften it and it cleanses your face, I’m looking forward to trying it.

Boar ‘stud’ farm in Norfolk exposed after an undercover investigation by the Animal Justice Project —

‘We went undercover inside Innovis, a semen ‘collection’ centre in Norfolk. For the first time, we’ve shone a light on the nightmarish lives of ‘working boars’ who are exploited for their semen. They’re imprisoned for years in concrete pens, never being allowed outdoors.

In a tirade of physical and verbal abuse, workers stabbed pigs with pitchforks, struck them with plastic piping and kicked them in their faces and testes. The boars had nowhere to hide and had no choice but to give in and comply; their ability to consent was never questioned.

To increase the boats libidos, staff injected them with Enzaprost, an off-label drug that comes with side-effects like incoordination, irritation and vomiting. We caught a despairing scene on camera as a worker aggressively yelled at a boar for ‘puking his guts up.’

We must demand transparency and accountability and push for an urgent end to pig farming.’

Maybe. My usage of the word was based on the fact that most meals I am aware of (waybread gave me examples of some that have no place in my culture) does not require someone to be drinking animal blood.... most meals are well cooked. Most discourse around food doesn't seem to be around drinking animal blood and I am not aware of any apart from niche groups that enjoy the drinking of animal blood. It's seems like a needlessly sensationalist way of describing people who eat meat.

That better?
‘In Barbados, blood sausage, also called pudding, is made with sweet potato (batata), pig's blood and onions, seasoned with peppers and other herbs and stuffed in pig intestines.’

Who regulates it, and who watches the regulators? Most importantly, what are the income levels of those who choose to take their own lives?
David, my husband and I recently filled out power of representation forms with our local notary. These forms cover a lot of the person's end of life requests. For example, we could specify no medical intervention to sustain life, which would speed up dying in palliative care.

In Canada, health care generally operates at the provincial level.

Here is the government of Canada's statement:

Here is British Columbia's statement on medically assisted death:

None of this hinges on the person's income level.

‘Even if you think of yourself as higher than animals, what is the justification from taking their life away from them when you don’t have to? How do you justify it when you can just eat or wear something else? How do you justify paying someone to stab cows in the throat, to gas pigs, to electrocute animals, when you can just walk into a supermarket or into pretty much any restaurant and buy a vegan option instead? What’s the justification?’

‘Heifer whines could be human cries
Closer comes the screaming knife
This beautiful creature must die
This beautiful creature must die
A death for no reason
And death for no reason is MURDER
And the flesh you so fancifully fry
Is not succulent, tasty or kind
It's death for no reason
And death for no reason is MURDER
And the calf that you carve with a smile
Is MURDER
And the turkey you festively slice
Is MURDER
Do you know how animals die ?
Kitchen aromas aren't very homely
It's not "comforting", cheery or kind
It's sizzling blood and the unholy stench
Of MURDER
It's not "natural", "normal" or kind
The flesh you so fancifully fry
The meat in your mouth
As you savour the flavour
Of MURDER
NO, NO, NO, IT'S MURDER
NO, NO, NO, IT'S MURDER
Oh...and who hears when animals cry ?’

I got an error message
I'm still working on it. It's playing hard to get!

I double-checked - it's typed in right, so www.cambridge won't work properly! :annoyed:

Mercury retrograde?

A lot of trouble for naught! In summary, the euthanasia program in Canada has some real problems that need to be addressed, especially regarding Indigenous people.

Ah, sorry to hear you have food sensitivities. It looks like you have to carefully research everything you eat, and that probably makes more attuned to the ethics of what you're choosing since you know where it comes from and have a lot of limits. It's good that you're feeling healthier these days and managing to find food that doesn't make you sick, though.

I admittedly don't know much about skin care, but I do know about the konjac sponge because I'm kind of a nerd about Japanese culture. It seems like some Japanese people use them a lot where we would use a plastic loofah. Supposedly they're really good for removing blackheads.
